Besides emotional advantages, Quarax offers technical and functional advantages. An example is the option of being a shadow manager. For every job assigned to an interim manager, a shadow manager is appointed. A shadow manager is a co-worker- interim manager who serves as sounding board for the interim manager. In the first place, the shadow manager is required to give advice and support. Second, the interim manager is required to report his progress to the shadow manager. Unlike the interim manager, the shadow manager is not involved with the processes within the company or organisation concerned. Nevertheless, he has a detailed knowledge of the organisation's goals, its problems and the stated assignment. This enables the shadow manager to review and monitor the progress of the interim management process, according to the assignment. When necessary, he may offer advice or guidance to the interim manager and the principal.
